Our client is well-established and leaders in their field, they are recruiting for a EHS Officer to work within the Production Engineering and Facilities Department as an Environmental Health and Safety Officer!

EHS Officer Role and Responsibilities
  • Liaise and coordinate with Production Engineering, Facilities Manager, Site Maintenance Engineer and various other Site Staff
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and systems in line with UK legislation and industry best practices
  • Monitor and report on EH&S performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring timely and accurate management reporting
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections across the site to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and embedded
  • Coordinate EH&S training and awareness programmes for all staff, including induction and refresher sessions
  • Liaise with external bodies (e.g., HSE, environmental agencies) and ensure all regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time
  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions control, and energy efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and facilities to embed EH&S into daily operations
  • Attend educational programs and conferences to stay up to date on regulatory developments
The ideal EHS Officer will
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 years’ experience is desirable
  • Proven experience in an EH&S role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK EH&S legislation and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in EH&S software and Microsoft Office suite preferably (Epicor ERP)
Working Hours + Benefits
  • Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 14:00
