Responsibilities

As a maintenance engineer at our Aylesbury Energy Centre, you will ensure that essential utilities and services operate safely, reliably, and to optimum performance across the site. Working a 12‑hour Panama‑style shift pattern (rotating days and nights), you will respond to both planned and reactive engineering needs, supporting continuous improvement in a high‑performing production environment.

  • Maintaining site utilities in line with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Responding to breakdowns and equipment failures across systems such as boilers, refrigeration, wastewater treatment, DAF plant, HVAC, and water systems
  • Completing equipment condition assessments and supporting OEMs during servicing
  • Identifying and delivering improvements that enhance reliability and operational efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with QEHS requirements including Legionella, fire systems, PSSR and LOTO

You will be part of the Engineering team supporting the site’s Energy Centre and wider utilities operations.

What Will Make You Successful

You bring solid engineering foundations, a proactive mindset, and the ability to remain composed in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. Your natural curiosity and drive for improvement will help you grow quickly in the team.

You’ll bring a solid engineering foundation, demonstrated through a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification. Alongside this, you will have experience working in both reactive and planned maintenance within a regulated or industrial environment. Your ability to solve problems with resilience, while working collaboratively as part of a team, will help you thrive in our fast‑paced setting.

Experience with CHP or wastewater systems is beneficial, though not essential. Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine passion for developing your skills — with access to extensive internal and external training to support your growth.

What do we offer?

You will join a well-invested site with an experienced, supportive engineering team who work together to maintain a high standard of safety, reliability and operational excellence.

We’re committed to your growth and development, offering internal and external training opportunities. You’ll enjoy a competitive salary, 24 days holiday, matched pension contributions up to 6%, life assurance, and flexible benefits. At Aylesbury, you’ll join a team proud of its high job satisfaction and steep learning curve, with plenty of challenges and support to help you succeed.
