Planning and Project Control Manager

Our client is one of the UK’s leading earthmoving and civil engineering specialists, delivering major works across HS2, Sizewell C, the Lower Thames Crossing and has an outstanding pipeline. The business is looking for a Planning & Project Control Manager to join the team.

This role is central to programme delivery across large-scale earthworks and complex civil engineering environments. You will maintain accurate Primavera P6 programmes, develop short‑term and long‑term planning schedules, produce high‑quality progress reporting, and support operational teams with reliable information that drives clarity and productivity.

You will work closely with Tier 1 contractors, client‑side planning teams and internal stakeholders, representing our client in progress meetings, reviews and collaborative planning sessions. The role suits someone who has delivered planning and controls across multiple major projects, with experience gained in earthworks, linear infrastructure, highways or major civils. This is not an academic planning position — you must be confident building programmes from first principles and challenging assumptions constructively.

A strong understanding of NEC contract requirements is important, along with the ability to support commercial teams through structured programme evidence. PPC (APMG) certification and APM Chartered status are preferred.
