Choices College (formerly Project Choice) is a supported internship programme that aims to support young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or autism to become employment ready.
We are looking for a Student Support Worker to provide one‑to‑one support to interns within a workplace setting, helping them reach their full potential.
Employment DetailsContract type: 0‑hour, flexible‑hour contract. Hours are not guaranteed and may fluctuate throughout the academic year.
Location:
Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire. Willingness to travel within the region is essential. Expenses will be reimbursed.
- Managing the day‑to‑day delivery of 121 support for a student with autism, learning disability, difficulty or disability.
- Delivering high‑quality TSI‑based learning.
- Supporting mentors to support the student.
- Interpreting sensitive information and supporting very anxious students to learn to work.
- Assisting in the development of bespoke learning.
- Reporting and communicating information effectively and efficiently to area manager and mentor.
- Supporting the student 1:1 in a classroom environment.
If you are successful at interview, we will run an Inter‑Authority Transfer (IAT) in the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR). This transfer gathers valuable information from a previous or current NHS employer to support the onboarding process, including statutory and mandatory competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may inform us if you do not consent.
Qualifications and SkillsA passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential for this role.
