Provides friendly and efficient service in a timely manner to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. Position Activities and Tasks- Guest Interactions
- Reports to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform, and practices good personal hygiene at all times.
- Greets guests in a courteous and respectful manner when seated at station.
- Welcomes guests immediately upon seating with a non-scripted greeting.
- Uses acquired menu knowledge to offer menu suggestions, answer questions and anticipate guests’ needs.
- Deliver hot food; check completed orders for accuracy, appearance and temperature, and deliver to the table promptly.
- Deliver Perkin’s Service by showing hospitality, personality and informed recommendations at every step; engage guests with concerns and remedy them. Ensure each guest is 100% satisfied with their dining experience.
- Clean – keep tables, station, pantry line area and dining room clean; complete assigned Perkins cleaning system duties.
- Attend to guests’ needs or requests as they arise.
- Maintain dining area – pre-bussing, detailing, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness of stations and pantry.
- Perform side work during downtime (rolling silverware, restocking cleaning supplies, bussing tables, etc.).
- Execute the service cycle and team responsibilities at all times to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
- Keep General Manager and Manager on Duty informed of problems and propose alternate solutions.
- Process orders
- Write guest checks and/or operate POS equipment according to company policies.
- Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Assist team members
- Maintain service stations, garnish line, service bar and common areas of the restaurant
- Restock service station with glasses, tea, ice and plates
- Restock garnish line
- Fill condiments
- Sort, polish and roll silverware
- Cleans mirrors and artifacts
- Run food for all servers to ensure hot food is served hot
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room and pantry area
- Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to see at distance (20 feet) and at close range (12 inches); distinguish shapes and use peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold
- Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5–3 feet
- High level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided
- Time management skills
- Ability to read, write and perform addition/subtraction calculations
- Ability to write, slice, chop and operate equipment using fingers
- Must fit through openings 30” wide
- Ability to work irregular hours under heavy pressure during busy times
- Bending, reaching, walking
- Carrying trays of food weighing about 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals
Receives direction and training from the Manager on Duty as to the specific procedures and assignments.
Knowledge and Skill RequiredBasic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught through in-house training.
