Position: Nursing Assistant / STNA

We are looking for a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNAs) to work in our 5‑star healthcare facility. The STNA is responsible for providing resident care according to an approved Care Plan; applying infection control procedures; and complying with all documentation/record‑keeping policies, including vital signs. Positions available includes working every other weekend and every other holiday.

  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (72 hours per two‑week pay period)
  • 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. (72 hours per two‑week pay period)
  • 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. (48 hours per two‑week pay period)

St. Mary of the Woods Community: St. Mary of the Woods was built with a deep Catholic foundation and has an impeccable reputation for quality care. Built in 2005, it has 179 total units: 81 independent living apartments, 48 assisted living apartments, and 50 rooms in skilled nursing and transitional care. It is a five‑star facility licensed by Medicare and Medicaid, recognized as a 2024 Best Nursing Home by U.S. News and World Report, and is open to people of any faith tradition.

Qualifications:
  • Hold a nursing assistant certification from the state body charged with the responsibility of certifying nursing assistants working in long‑term care and be in good standing.
  • Have previous experience working as an STNA.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Meet all federal, state, and local health regulations and pass a post‑employment‑offer physical exam, including drug screening, criminal background check, and reference screening.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately plan and carry out assignments without direct supervision.
  • Proven history of good judgment, integrity, and consideration for others.
  • Maintained awareness and sensitivity to resident needs, interests, and abilities.
  • High level of commitment to compassionate customer service.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting over 50 lbs. while transferring a resident.
