The purpose of our internship program is to train future leaders for service in the local church. We achieve this by providing interns with (1) a robust understanding of the principles and practices of a healthy church family, (2) the key skills and tools necessary for effective ministry and (3) practical, hands‑on ministry experience. This program is ideal for those who love the Lord and are eager to serve the local church in a greater capacity.
The summer internship is a 10‑week program beginning in late May and running through the first week of August. You are expected to commit to 25‑30 hours a week, including in office and ministry events. You will be provided with a weekly stipend during your 10‑week program.
What you will experience during our 10-week programYou will have a wide variety of ministry opportunities. These opportunities will include:
- Engage in staff‑wide meetings
- Serve alongside a gifted staff with decades of combined ministry experience
- Develop self‑management skills necessary for effective leadership in the church
- Identify and develop gifts and talents for the advancement of God’s kingdom
- Involvement in a variety of the church’s ministries
An ideal candidate for our program will be possess these qualities and/or have this background:
- A clear profession of faith in Jesus
- A track record of involvement in a local church
- One year out of high school
- Desire to serve the local church in a greater capacity or degree
- A humble and teachable spirit
- Alignment with Providence Church’s statement of faith, biblical affirmations, and core stated mission
* Pursuing a Bible/ministry degree and/or desiring to serve in ministry full‑time are not required. However, Providence will seek to conform the internship opportunities to meet any applicable academic requirements for those who are pursuing a ministry degree.
Applications received before March 1, 2026, will be considered for the 2026 summer internship program.
Applications received after March 1, 2026, will be considered for the 2027 summer internship program.
