What You'll Do

You'll handle both set-up and operation for CNC mills and lathes in a small, hands-on shop producing custom metal parts for a variety of industries (appliance, aerospace, HVAC, electrical). Your day will include:
  • Reading blueprints and selecting the correct tooling for each job.
  • Performing set-ups; making necessary machine offsets/adjustments.
  • Running first-article parts and verifying dimensions before production.
  • Monitoring jobs in process and changing out tooling and wear items as needed.
  • Using micrometers and calipers to inspect parts to spec.
  • Performing basic preventive maintenance and keeping a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborating with the shift supervisor to troubleshoot issues and keep work flowing.
Success Profile

This role is a good fit if you:
  • Have 1-2 years of CNC set-up experience (mills and/or lathes) in manufacturing.
  • Read blueprints confidently and work well with gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Bring solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Can work in a loud, fast-moving shop; stand for long periods; and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Are a team player who's comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Value a laid-back but accountable environment where quality and safety matter.
Work Environment

You'll join a tight-knit team on a busy production floor making custom, made-to-order parts-not high-volume commodity work. The pace is steady, the work is detailed, and the team takes pride in getting parts right the first time. Safety is a daily priority, and you'll have the tools and PPE you need to do the job well.
