Phlebotomy Lab Assistant

Full Time – Float Position – Days 9:15am – 5:45pm. Every 3 weekend 7am – 12pm.

Location:

West Schwarz Cancer Center at North Hospital.

• Perform specimen collection using routine venipuncture.
• Enter orders into the system, confirm validity of each specimen, answer phone calls, manage faxes.
• Perform patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program and experience in laboratory or related science preferred.
• Valid Indiana Operator license and good driving history for last three years.
• Computer proficiency.
• Telephone skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
• May serve on appropriate committees or projects that contribute to the overall purpose and essential functions of the department.
