Department Supervisor Role:The Department Supervisor provides direct leadership to the production team to ensure operational goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This role exists to manage increasing production demands and to foster a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement.
Department Supervisor Responsibilities:- Lead daily production activities to meet scheduled output goals
- Supervise and mentor a team of production associates to ensure high performance
- Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering to minimize equipment downtime
- Enforce all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Manage labor hours, attendance, and performance reviews for direct reports
- Train new employees on standard operating procedures and equipment usage
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Communicate production status and challenges to senior management
- Maintain accurate documentation of production logs and quality reports
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has direct supervisory responsibility for the department’s production staff.
About You:- Possess at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams
- Exhibit deep knowledge of production processes and quality control systems
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Show proficiency in using ERP systems or production tracking software
- Apply critical thinking skills to resolve operational bottlenecks
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
- Adapt quickly to changing production priorities and business needs
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training preferred
- Display a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
