Assistant Controller

Watteredge is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment and is ready to grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time.

We are a Northeast Ohio manufacturing organization with approximately 125 employees and a strong operational focus. This position reports directly to the Controller and will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives.

Experience with Infor Syte Line ERP is highly preferred and will be a significant differentiator.

• Assist with monthend and yearend close processes
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support internal financial reporting and KPI preparation
• Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of results

• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations

• Provide support and backup for AP and AR functions
• Assist with collections of past‑due accounts as needed
• Manage Positive Pay uploads and banking transactions
• Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with GAAP

• Support external audit preparation
• Assist with tax documentation and regulatory compliance
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes

• Leverage ERP tools to improve reporting and workflow efficiency
• Support enhancements within Infor Syte Line ERP
• Contribute to scalable accounting process development as the company grows

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience
• Experience with Infor Syte Line ERP highly preferred
• Cost accounting exposure is a plus but not required
• CPA not required
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
