Controller, Finance & Banking, Cost Accountant

Kforce's client, a Manufacturer in the Aerospace Industry, is seeking an experienced Controller in Avenel, NJ with a strong background in manufacturing accounting to support accurate inventory valuation, cost standard maintenance, and variance analysis. This individual will play a key role in ensuring cost data integrity, driving process improvements, and supporting informed business decisions across operations and finance.

Responsibilities:

* Controller will manage and maintain inventory records to ensure accurate reporting and valuation

* Establish, update, and monitor cost standards to reflect current production and material costs

* Maintain rolling standards to support continuous cost accuracy and forecasting

* Conduct and reconcile cycle counts to ensure proper inventory control

* Analyze and report on manufacturing cost variances, identifying cost drivers and supporting reduction initiatives

* Develop, maintain, and monitor overhead rates to ensure accurate allocation of indirect costs to products and departments

* As a Controller, you will partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities

* Assist with month-end close, reporting, and audit support related to inventory and cost accounting
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

* Strong manufacturing accounting background

* Experience with Epicor 10, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor ERP (or similar ERP systems)

* Expertise in inventory, cost standards, rolling standards, cycle counts, manufacturing cost variances, and overhead rates

* Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other analytical functions

* Proven ability to analyze data, explain variances, and provide actionable recommendations
