Laborer, Supply Chain​/Logistics, Driver

Avenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer / Tipper Operator to join our team in Avenal, CA! This is a full time, long term position with a reputable company.

The schedule will be Monday-Friday 5am-2pm and is subject to change.

The pay rate for this position is fixed at $22/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

* Operate landfill tipper

* Maintain cleanliness of tipper cab and surrounding area - shoveling and sweeping

* Litter picking

* Spotting/directing trucks

* Tracking weather patterns to be able to set up fencing and wind screens

* Traffic management - moving signs and cones

* Ensuring that all customers are wearing proper PPE

* Cleaning Equipment

* General site cleanup and landscaping

* Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

* Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises

* Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

* Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

* Ability to safely climb on and off of heavy equipment in order to operate, clean and inspect.

Requirements:

* At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor type position

* Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

* The ability to lift up to 75 pounds

* Experience operating equipment is a plus

* Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift

* Mechanical ability is a plus.
