Our partnership with Thomas Steel has allowed us to bring our medical care onsite to their employees through their Occupational Health Clinic. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill a role as an RN s position is a unique opportunity to work directly within a dynamic industrial environment, providing essential healthcare services to Howmet's workforce. The ideal candidate will be passionate about occupational health, capable of working independently, and committed to delivering high‑quality care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and primary nursing care, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing care plan, and documentation of occupation and non‑occupational illness and injury.
  • Investigate, monitor, and analyze employee illness and injury incidents.
  • Case management for occupational illness and injury. Including FMLA eligibility, communication and tracking, ADA, STD and workers’ compensation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee health and medical records.
  • Administer drug and alcohol screenings as required by company policy. Maintain recordkeeping.
  • Partner with Safety, HR and Operations to identify potential health and safety risks to the workforce.
  • Collaborate with local hospitals and Urgent Care facilities to ensure optimum medical care for workers.
  • Manage annual flu clinical for Niles facility.
  • Facilitate Modified Duty Committee meetings.
  • Manage per diem nurses and paramedics. Including training, schedules and timekeeping.
  • Work independently with minimal direction. Required confidence to make critical, educated decisions to ensure appropriate, potentially life‑saving, medical care is administered to employees.
  • Schedules and performs annual employee physicals as required.
  • Coordinates weekly medical clinic with company physician. Assists doctor with providing medical care, treatment, pre‑employment/ return to work physicals and respirator physicals.
  • Provide counseling and health education to workers and make referrals to Employee Assistance Programs as needed.
  • Evaluate on/off site care and service delivery to employees, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize communication, listening and interpersonal skills and act as an advocate for clients (workers) and company.
  • Participate in health and safety, environmental, and management activities in solving problems, setting policy, and planning programs and services.
  • Evaluate factors related to quality, cost, safety, and availability of resources when choosing supplies and equipment.
  • Utilize company resources to facilitate ethical decision making and resolve complex issues.
  • Train employees in AED.
  • Train designated employees as outlined in Bloodborne Pathogens policy.
  • Performs other related duties as required in support of the Human Resources and safety departments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse required.
  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience.
  • Certification required include CAOHC, NIOSH Respiratory, and phlebotomy.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • COHN‑S certification is beneficial.
  • Certification in Spirometry and Audiometry.
  • Experience as Occupational Health Nurse in a manufacturing setting.
  • Evidence of continued education in nursing trends and regulatory standards governing health and safety of workers and environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
