Reaching the pinnacle of competitive sport—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—demands extraordinary discipline. The question is: can you distill those lessons into practical coaching methods that elevate students into top performers?
Texas Sports Academy offers a new arena where your mission is developing champions—not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that drives students past their perceived limits. Your role extends far beyond storytelling. You ll convert elite athletic principles into tangible motivational tools, deliver resilience training via interactive workshops, and lead vigorous practice sessions where championship standards apply to every participant.
Austin provides year-round outdoor training conditions, a dynamic sports ecosystem, and a purpose-centered environment where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone for guiding emerging leaders.
Lead with intention. Drive change through direct engagement. Submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing- Conducting intensive 1:1 coaching sessions where you transform your competitive athletic background into concrete, practical mentorship tactics
- Directing dynamic morning assemblies designed to energize the full student population
- Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students actively through exercises in resilience, leadership development, and goal-setting frameworks
- Overseeing structured athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: crafting drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic practice (not merely supervising recreational activity)
- Maintaining proactive engagement with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during self-directed learning periods, intervening to inspire when a student encounters obstacles, and generating teachable moments that catalyze transformative thinking
- Observing passively from the perimeter: this is not a symbolic or honorary position. You will be actively present, leading sessions, and making real-time interventions.
- Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students engage with adaptive learning platforms for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivational guidance, and cultivating meta-skills through athletic mentorship and sport.
- We re seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
- Bachelor s degree in any subject
- Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
- Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
- Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
