Description
The Head Volleyball Coach is a leadership role responsible for developing a Christ-centered, competitive volleyball program that forms student-athletes spiritually, academically, athletically, and relationally.
We are seeking an experienced head coach who is committed to leading athletes to Jesus through the volleyball program while pursuing excellence in coaching, character, and community impact. The head coach is expected to model Christ-like character, integrity, humility, and servant leadership, intentionally support spiritual formation and discipleship, and foster a culture where athletes, families, staff, officials, and opponents experience community.
All leadership, and decision-making must align with the school’s mission, vision, and values and reflect a biblical worldview, including the constructive handling of conflict and consistent modeling of sportsmanship. The head coach is responsible for providing vision and excellence through comprehensive year-round planning, organized and purposeful practices, tactical and technical player development, camps and clinics, and a high-quality game day experience, while also pursuing ongoing professional growth.
A key responsibility of this role is ensuring strong vertical alignment across the volleyball program (grades 5–8) and actively supporting and engaging with the lower school (K4–4) through skill development, demonstrations, and program exposure, with the goal of building continuity, retention, and long-term program growth. The role requires strong collaboration with athletic administration, academic staff, parents, and the broader school community, clear and timely communication, and the development of a positive, inclusive, and liberating program culture.
In addition, the head coach must faithfully execute all school responsibilities, including compliance with policies, league and eligibility requirements, academic oversight, administrative duties, budget and equipment management, use of required technology platforms, player supervision and safety, and the recruitment, supervision, and development of assistant coaches.
Performance in this role is evaluated using the Head Coach Evaluation Rubric aligned to the school’s core values of Excellence, Christ-Centered Culture, Biblical Worldview, Community, and School Responsibilities.
