Apex is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team in the tech sector of our financial services and trading business. This role is geared towards a mid-level professional eager to deploy innovative solutions and explore fresh ideas, contributing to various strategic company initiatives. You will work alongside some of the industry’s most adept professionals to address unique challenges in our ever-evolving market.
The position offers abundant opportunities for career development through complex projects involving a multitude of technologies and programming frameworks.
- Build sweet UIs – and the frameworks that drive them – on top of APIs designed in collaboration with domain product teams.
- Think through hard problems and solve them at all layers of the enterprise.
- Write self-documenting and well-tested code with an emphasis on sustainable development practices.
- Work as part of a small, productive development team that cares most about delivering value to the business while emphasizing code quality, peer reviews and strong engineering practices.
- Full Lifecycle Software Engineering:
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. - Quality Assurance and Standards:
Write high-quality, well-tested code and maintain strict coding standards through regular code reviews, mentoring, and coaching within your team. - Project Management:
Effectively manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using your extensive technical expertise. - Continuous Learning:
Engage in ongoing training to deepen your understanding of options trading, financial markets, and the technologies that drive these sectors such as RDBMS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years in software development within a technology-driven organization. Experience in financial services is a plus but not required.
- Advanced Technical Proficiency:
Demonstrated ability to work with complex computing environments and large-scale projects involving cloud platforms and containerization technologies. - Financial Markets Knowledge: A keen interest or background in financial markets, trading platforms, or related technologies provides a valuable perspective.
- Professional Development:
Continued education or certifications in relevant programming languages, cloud services, or software development methodologies. - A passion for UX: you understand in your bones that page speed, asset size, and critical render path all affect your users.
