Engineer, Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX(Remote). Candidates must have strong expertise in Jira Data Center administration with proven capability in leading complex migrations to Jira Cloud.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $37/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

* Leads Jira Data Center-to-Cloud migration activities, including assessment of current environments and identification of compatibility gaps.

* Executes data cleanup, normalization, and validation processes to ensure accurate and consistent migration outcomes.

* Utilizes Atlassian-approved and third‑party tools to migrate projects, issues, workflows, custom fields, permissions, and dashboards.

* Coordinates testing cycles such as UAT, validation, and rollback planning to ensure a smooth transition.

* Oversees post‑migration quality checks, data integrity verification, and optimization tasks.

* Documents migration decisions, technical configurations, risks, and provides structured post‑migration support.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field.

* 5 years of hands‑on experience administering Jira Data Center environments.

* Strong capability in planning and executing Jira Data Center-to-Cloud migrations with thorough data validation.

* Expertise in handling workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions, and migration tool usage for seamless end‑to‑end transitions.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
