As a Principal Software Engineer you will work with teams of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and operations of both new and existing products. You should be able to architect broad system interactions, be hands‑on, and dive deep into any part of the stack while maintaining a strong sense of cloud infrastructure and networking. Principal engineers also provide technical leadership across the organization, working independently to guide architecture decisions, promote operational excellence, and drive consensus with data‑driven approaches.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain large‑scale, highly distributed services.
• Architect resilient, cloud‑scale systems with high availability and scalability.
• Advise on major technical changes and justify recommendations to stakeholders.
• Define and evolve standard practices and procedures within the software engineering division.

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Go, C#, or similar object‑oriented languages.
• Proven ability to deliver products through the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience building and operating large‑scale, highly distributed services.
• Experience with mission‑critical, tier‑one livesite environments.
• Systematic problem‑solving mindset, strong communication skills, sense of ownership, and drive.
• Design architectures with deep technical depth that enable high availability, scalability, and future business demand.

• Technical lead experience on a large‑scale cloud service.
• Hands‑on experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle).
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages, preferably Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and No

• In-depth understanding of computer networking (OSI layers, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, routers, gateways, subnets, etc.).
• Knowledge of Linux internals and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with host virtualization technologies (KVM, containers, Docker, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical proposals and design documents.
• Experience with hiring, mentorship, and raising the talent bar across the organization.

Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
