Senior Software Engineer

We’re hiring:
Backend Senior Software Engineer – Austin, TX – Hybrid (note: this role is not available for c2c or sponsorship at this time)

Orama has exclusively partnered with an Austin-based fintech company that is rapidly modernizing a $20B industry that hasn’t meaningfully changed in 25+ years. We are looking for Senior Developers/Team Leads to join the team.

• $0 → ~$4M ARR in ~12 months, now tracking ~$4M run-rate by January, ahead of pace on the classic triple-triple-triple-double-double growth model
• Platform processes high-volume, regulated financial workflows (payments, messaging, compliance) touching tens of millions of consumers annually
• Backed by Texas-based VC Firm, securing $9M in funding
• Lean but impactful team of 9 engineers + CTO. We recently hired at Postgre
  
  SQL DBA to lead on the data front for the team

• Own and evolve backend-first systems (Go-based services; strong Java/Python/C engineers ramp in ~30–45 days)
• Design event-driven, distributed systems that handle real throughput and real dollars
• Make architectural decisions that go straight to production - not roadmaps that sit for quarters
• Influence everything from data models to reliability to how the company scales engineering
• No bureaucracy or internal politics - no committees, no multi-department approvals, no waiting weeks to ship; decisions are fast and ownership is real

• Expertise in Go, Java, Python, or C# (the backend services are in Go but the CTO can ramp a strong dev in 30-45 days)
• Must have experience writing business applications, specifically backend application code
• Experience with efficient SQL and design scalable relational schemas
• Contribute to production reliability, observability, and CI/CD pipelines
• AWS experience preferred

• Prior payments experience with data encryption experience
• Startup experience

This is not a “join early and wait” role - this platform is already in production, already scaling, and now deliberately hiring senior engineers and team-lead-level builders to shape the next phase.
