Apple’s Events, Streaming and Broadcast Services (ESB) team is looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our team. Our team manages and maintains the software development for Events and streaming applications—both frontend and backend, the infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines and other related tooling. We are passionate about continuously improving the way we enable the software development lifecycle and we’re looking for like-minded individuals like you who want to continuously automate and improve their environment.
In your role you will support engineering teams and provide operational support for large‑scale backend systems deployed across hybrid cloud environments like Kubernetes on AWS and on‑premise infrastructure. Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain critical infrastructure and automation for large‑scale backend systems.
- Provide expert operational support for systems deployed across hybrid cloud environments, including Kubernetes on AWS and on‑premise infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor CI/CD infrastructure, including physical and virtual machines.
- Continuously develop, enhance, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery.
- Manage and scale Kubernetes deployments across multi‑cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Develop custom tooling and scripts to boost developer efficiency and streamline workflows.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve integration, release, and deployment processes.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate innovative technologies, including Generative AI, to optimize Dev Ops processes and drive efficiency.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Software Development.
- 5+ years of experience as a Dev Ops engineer.
- 5+ years in Python, or other languages.
- Experience in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and Configuration as Code.
- Working experience with the SDLC, including Continuous Integration and Agile development practices.
- Working experience with Infrastructure as Code systems like Pulumi, and Terraform.
- Working experience with Dev Ops tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Grafana, and Git Ops.
- Experience developing Microservices and REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCE.
- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with development environments such as Xcode, Swift.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate.
- Comfortable and adaptable in a high‑paced environment.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, methodical and creative thinker committed to driving quality forward.
- Self‑motivated, passionate about Dev Ops, enjoys a steep learning curve.
