What You Will Be Doing:

• Build and maintain backend components for a high-class enterprise backup product
  , deeply integrated with Linux system services
  , command-line tools
  , and virtualization technologies such as KVM and libvirt
  .
• Develop robust and scalable features that interact with daemons, background processes, and storage/file systems.
• Work with relational databases to support efficient, reliable data management.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on performance and system reliability.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues in production environments, collaborating with Support.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to conceptualize and deliver new product capabilities.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum workflows, providing accurate estimates and contributing to planning and retrospectives.
• Lead by example through code reviews, mentoring, and technical leadership across the engineering team.
• Improve internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and development processes using Git Lab
  , JIRA
  , and related systems

What You Should Have

• Strong experience in Linux environments
  , including scripting, system integration, and performance tuning
• Required
  :
  Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as KVM
  , libvirt
  , or similar stacks
• Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL), including data modeling and optimization
• 5+ years of backend software development experience using modern programming languages such as Go, PHP, Python, Java, or C++
• Experience with CI/CD workflows, Git-based version control, and Agile methodologies
• Ability to debug, analyze, and troubleshoot production systems and services
• Bonus:
  
  Experience with
  observability tools such as Grafana and Open Search
  , or working with ZFS and other storage systems
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Our products have significant interaction with the Microsoft Azure cloud and our Datto cloud, use Terraform for infrastructure management (e.g., VMs, hypervisors), and heavily leverage Docker containers and Kubernetes
