Software Engineer
Overview
builds the platform that helps US companies hire and run global engineering teams without the usual friction. We handle the hard parts of working globally, like compliance, payroll, security, and operations, so companies can focus on building products with great engineers across the Americas.
We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead three closely connected teams:
- AI Infrastructure :
Building shared, production-grade AI systems used across the company. - AI Dev Tooling :
Developer-facing AI tools that help software engineers work better and grow faster. - Core Product :
The platform customers and internal teams use to hire, manage, and support global engineering teams.
This role is about owning systems end-to-end, setting technical standards, and shipping reliable software that real engineers and real businesses use every day.
The WorkFix the process You own the way we work. If a deployment process is brittle or sprint planning is messy, you’re the one who steps in. You’ll set up the right habits for observability, incident response, and performance monitoring so that our systems stay stable as we grow. You ll also work with Product, UX and company execs to make sure the engineering roadmap makes sense and that we’re tackling technical debt before it becomes a problem.
Keep the technical bar high You need to stay close to the code. While you won’t be reviewing every PR, you will "sample" the work by diving into critical code changes and architectural decisions. You are there to keep the Tech Leads and the team honest, ensuring that performance, security, and reliability aren’t being overlooked.
Manage the team You’ll handle the people side of the department. This includes 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and career development. When there’s a conflict or a roadblock in the team, you’re the one who clears it. You’ll also coach our technical leaders to help them balance their day-to-day work with the bigger picture of the team’s health.
What success looks like- Predictable delivery: We ship quality code on a regular schedule without constant fire drills or surprises.
- System stability: Our systems are well-monitored and resilient because you prioritized the right operational work.
- Technical integrity: The codebase stays clean and performant even as we add new features.
- Team growth: Engineers know their goals, get honest feedback, and have what they need to do their jobs.
- You’ve been an engineer: You have a real technical background. You can still read code and have a productive debate about architecture or system design.
- You’ve managed teams: You have experience with the human side, hiring, mentoring, and navigating team dynamics.
- You fix broken things: You enjoy improving a clunky process just as much as a bug.
- You’re a clear communicator: You can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical people without losing the important details.
