Job DescriptionVisa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators shaping the future of commerce. The Senior Software Engineer will help build distributed systems and solve large‑scale problems in payment and data solutions, cybersecurity, and B2C platforms.
The OpportunityWe are seeking versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who thrive on global challenges. You will be part of a multi‑functional team that invents, designs, builds, and tests software products for Visa’s worldwide customer base.
The Work itself- Design code and systems impacting 40% of the world population while establishing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
- Collaborate across functions to create design artifacts and best‑in‑class software solutions for multiple technical offerings.
- Contribute to product quality, service technology, and new business flows in agile squads.
- Develop robust, scalable products for merchants, B2B, and government customers.
- Leverage innovative technologies to build next‑generation Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real‑Time Payments, and Buy‑Now‑Pay‑Later solutions.
- Mentor peers and pursue continuous learning opportunities.
- Understand requirements through relevant technical knowledge.
- Identify and develop solution strategies that improve design and functionality across multiple features, with minimal guidance.
- Apply standard processes in programming languages (HTML, C++, Java) to write code that meets technical requirements and website modifications.
- Collaborate on piloting new technology capabilities to enhance the e‑commerce website experience.
- Analyze bugs and use debugging tools to validate assumptions.

- Partnership: Collaboration experience with Product, Test, Dev‑Ops, and Agile/Scrum teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Front‑end development skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and package/product support.
- User interface design knowledge for optimal interaction experience.
- Experience developing and applying application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Experience with AI technologies such as Lang Graph, Lang Chain, A2A, MCP, etc.
Work Hours: Varies based on department needs.
Travel Requirements: Approximately 5–10% of the time.

Salary and Benefits (U.S. Applicants Only)
Estimated salary range: $110,700 to $171,800 USD per year, potentially including sales incentives, bonuses, and equity. Comprehensive benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
