• Design code and systems that reach 40% of the world population while setting internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to create design artifacts and develop best‑in‑class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust, scalable products for end‑user merchants, B2B, and government solutions.

• Design, document, and implement new systems, enhancements, and modifications to existing software in line with security and Java best practices.
• Interact with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high‑quality products that meet business requirements.
• Deliver zero‑defect code and ensure the team’s deliverables meet or exceed expectations; design, implement and evolve highly scalable, fault‑tolerant web‑based applications.
• Identify opportunities for product innovation and process improvement.
• Contribute to the development pipeline using CI/CD tools.
• Develop and maintain back‑end services with Java/Spring Boot, build test automation frameworks, maintain CI/CD pipelines, perform performance and load testing, and write automated test cases.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, and features in business terms.
• Communicate status, issues, and risks effectively and timely.
• Design backend DBs and queries, API creation and consumption, and front‑end UI development; manage backend operations and batch jobs.
• Work independently on software that meets Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.

This is a hybrid position; days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

• Basic Qualifications: 8+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; or 5+ years with an Advanced Degree; or 2 years with a PhD; or 11+ years relevant experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: 9+ years with a Bachelor’s Degree; or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree; or 3+ years with a PhD.

  Strong understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) adoption and practical application in the SDLC.
• Essential Functions: Java expertise, experience with REST APIs, JSON, back‑end technologies (J2EE, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot), front‑end development in Angular, React JS, Node.
  
  JS; experience with Kafka, Redis, Hazelcast, or No
  
  SQL; database skills (MySQL, DB2, Oracle);
  Agile, CI/CD tools (GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit); strong communication, troubleshooting, multitasking, teamwork, curiosity, and creativity.
