BFF is a platform for finding friends and communities online, and getting together IRL. BFF provides a rich set of communication and engagement tools that allows users to discover communities and find friends. Find your people online, get together offline.
As a member of the BFF backend team, you'll help in continuing to build features and maintain existing Type Script/Golang Graph
QL services. You'll be heavily involved in the product development process and given the opportunity to give creative input into many phases of the development lifecycle. You’ll work on something that will have mass impact, mass adoption, and mass reach.
This is a high-impact role where your contributions will directly help guide all of the applications that depend on our backend services (iOS/Android/web). You'll work closely with our product, design, and outreach teams to help the communities on Geneva flourish. The role will require you to partner with multiple cross‑functional teams as stakeholders/customers. If you love product ideation, owning, collaborating, building, and constantly raising the bar, you will thrive in this role.
Whatyou’ll do
- Develop horizontally scalable backend systems using Type Script and Go, designed to handle millions of concurrent users
- Design and implement Graph
QL APIs to support our client applications - Establish and maintain a comprehensive testing strategy, including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests
- Guide features through the full development lifecycle, from conception through production deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and client engineers to refine and develop product requirements, ensure seamless integration, and optimal user experiences
- 7+ years of relevant experience in backend development
- Experience acting in a lead role wherein you contribute to architecture, design, and mentorship
- Strong proficiency in Type Script or Go
- Experience building and maintaining Graph
QL APIs - Experience with SQL and noSQL (i.e. Redis, Dynamo
DB) databases - Expertise in implementing thorough testing strategies
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
- Experience working through the entire product development lifecycle from inception to development and delivery
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication abilities and experience working in cross‑functional teams
- Help BFF find product market fit.

$215,000 - $260,000 a year
