Tecovas is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to scale Tecovas business operations to the next level, reporting directly to the Manager of Backend Engineering. The Sr Backend Engineer is an experienced engineer who will be responsible for building, deploying, testing, and operating the systems that power Tecovas' operational infrastructure. In this role, you will implement and improve processes that ensure scalability, security, and performance while streamlining critical workflows across the business.

You’ll work closely with teams across Tecovas to ensure data moves accurately and efficiently between systems, reducing manual effort and enabling the organization to operate faster and smarter. As a key cross‑functional partner, you’ll have broad exposure to Tecovas' teams and platforms and play a meaningful role in driving company‑wide impact.

This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.

• Design, build, test, deliver, and support highly scalable solutions across the entire solution stack.
• Provide code reviews, engage in pair programming, and give feedback on solution design.
• Suggest and enhance future and current code bases, test pipelines, and deployment pipelines based on your deep experience and subject matter expertise.
• Work directly with business partners and stakeholders to provide guidance and scalable solutions to complex issues.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in e‑commerce, preferably in a D2C environment as a client or an e‑commerce software provider.
• Previous experience as a senior‑level engineer.
• Significant production‑level experience with Python codebases and working knowledge of Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pydantic, FastAPI, etc.
• Experience building solutions around integrations with e‑commerce and ERP systems, with preferred experience integrating with Shopify and Net Suite.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating enterprise‑scale master data management pipelines.
• Strong subject matter expertise in building, designing, and integrating with REST and Graph
  
  QL APIs, and extensive experience integrating with third‑party APIs.
• GCP product expertise, specifically environment set up and configuration with Cloud Functions, Cloud Containers, GKE, and Datastore (comparable ISP experience is ok).
• Deep understanding of containers and managing production‑level container deployments.
• Experience with production‑level Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience building production‑grade CI/CD, build, and test pipelines using tools like Git Hub Actions, Circle
  
  CI, Git Lab Pipelines, Bitbucket, etc.
• General experience working in or managing JavaScript and/or Type Script codebases.
• Experience operating in any of the various work‑management tool suites like Atlassian, Git Lab, Git Hub Projects, Asana, Monday, etc.
• Strong cross‑functional communication skills.

• You are an experienced software engineer/architect with several years of experience in building solutions in the e‑commerce, retail, and/or D2C space as a backend engineer.
• You are a self‑managed professional who yearns for vision casting and collaboration versus instruction from leadership.
• You thrive working with small, autonomous teams that focus on value add versus process overhead.
• You are passionate about code quality through test‑driven development.
• You are passionate about event‑driven architectures, modular enterprise solution architecture, and domain‑driven design.
