Red Oak Technologies is offering a contract position in Austin, TX. This role focuses on designing and developing highly available, distributed, and scalable enterprise systems.

Base pay range: $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr.

• Design and develop highly available, distributed and scalable enterprise systems.
• Build Spring Boot, Redis, Mongo
  
  DB, Kafka, and Micro Services architecture.
• Deploy and manage AWS services including EC2, EKS clusters; scale applications.
• Manage Git, PR process, CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
• Develop high throughput, high performance, zero downtime systems; performance tuning (JVM, memory profiling, deadlocks, heap analysis).
• Build customer-facing web applications, handle HTTP specs, load balancing, CDN.
• Write unit tests using JUnit/TestNG; apply automated testing frameworks.
• Use template-driven rendering and client/server side MVC architectures.
• Monitor and investigate (Splunk) system issues.
• Follow Software Development Lifecycle, tools, and agile methodologies.
• Deploy real-world systems, troubleshoot, and maintain operational stability.

• 10+ years with Java.
• 5+ years with Mongo
  
  DB and hands‑on experience with AI tools like [Roo Code and Claude].
• Experience building platform spanning multiple tenants (Support Communities, Developer Forums, Education Forums).
• Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS, EKS, EC2, etc.).
• Hands‑on in Git, CI/CD, Kafka, Redis, etc.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of HTTP, load balancing, CDN.
• Familiarity with automated testing and MVC architecture.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk).
• Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile practices.
