Senior Software Engineer - PHP/Go

Join the Commerce team as a Senior Software Engineer - Backend supporting the Feedonomics Platform. This fully remote role sits on a cross‑functional Backend Engineering team delivering core infrastructure components that power our high‑performance, data‑intensive SaaS platform.

• Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available applications and services.
• Solve complex infrastructure‑related problems with code, providing post‑release support for scalable applications.
• Identify and implement enhancements to Dev Ops practices and tooling, leveraging automation to streamline application development and deployment.
• Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to product owners and Engineering leadership.
• Conduct post‑mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
• Champion Continuous Improvement in end‑to‑end infrastructure and systems.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes that solve concrete business problems.
• Become a domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices to contribute to continuous improvement of those practices.

• 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages.
• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 2+ years experience with PHP (Strongly preferred), Python, GoLang, Java or similar programming language.
• 2+ years experience with MySQL or similar technology.
• Strong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
• Strong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP, RPC, etc).
• Strong understanding of Distributed Systems.
• Experience in Caching technologies is a plus (e.g. Redis or Memcached).
• Dev Ops experience preferred.
• Experience with Full‑stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferred.
• Workable understanding of Linux operating systems; experience with modern CI/CD and containerization tools like Docker.
• Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications. (Pay Transparency Range: $112,000- $190,000)
