Job Description
The Commercial HVAC Electrician is responsible for installing, wiring, terminating, and troubleshooting electrical components for commercial HVAC systems. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to ensure accurate and code‑compliant installations. The electrician installs and services rooftop units (RTUs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors and motor controls, disconnects, panels, and building automation and control systems.
Key responsibilities include bending and installing conduit (EMT, rigid, and IMC), installing cable tray systems, pulling wire, and performing terminations on systems up to 480 volts. The position involves providing start‑up assistance, performing functional testing, and diagnosing and resolving electrical issues related to HVAC equipment. The electrician ensures all work complies with NEC requirements, local Austin codes, and applicable safety standards.
The role requires close coordination with HVAC technicians, project managers, and general contractors to meet project schedules and quality expectations. Accurate documentation of work performed is required at all times, along with strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.

- 4+ years of commercial electrical experience + Journeyman License
- Strong knowledge of NEC and local codes
- Experience with 3-phase power systems (208V/480V)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics
- Experience with VFDs and motor controls preferred
