Centric Fiber is a start-up telecommunications Company that is looking to disrupt the market and provide the fastest most reliable service for Cable, Internet, and TV service available.
Centric Fiber partners with home builders to install superior fiber infrastructure directly in the ground during beginning phases of development. This means all homes in a community are already hardwired for high-speed fiber internet, without added costs or complications.
The Splicer Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Splicer in terminating, splicing, bonding/grounding, installing CPE into customer house, documenting, and testing of all fiber optic cables within the systems fiber optic networks and their related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Clean & Valid Driver's License
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Knowledge preferred but will train the right candidate
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time throughout Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
- Safety equipment, boots, hard hat, etc.
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift 75 lbs.

Skills and Abilities
:
- Effective communication skills, as required in responding to customer questions and complaints.
- Organized and attentive to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in the use of a computer, and software applications including Microsoft Office.
- Solid interpersonal skills – outgoing, positive, and user-friendly.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer related experience in a start up environment.
- Prefer related work experience in a Fiber Optic installation operation position.
