Building Engineer Job Description

The Building Engineer will be responsible for completing work orders and troubleshooting and repairing various systems throughout the campus in South Austin. The ideal candidate will be versatile and willing to assist in multiple areas such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, with a strong focus on electrical work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general interior maintenance, including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems.
  • Execute special tasks such as painting, locksmith work, and fulfilling tenant service requests.
  • Maintain lighting systems, including replacing bulbs and ballasts.
  • Assist the operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
  • Conduct minor plumbing repairs.
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure safety of work areas.
Essential Skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Good general computer skills with knowledge of email, Internet, and Microsoft Word.
  • 3+ years of facility maintenance experience, with commercial experience preferred.

Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA & EPA Certifications are preferred.

Environment

The role is based on the campus in South Austin, where the buildings are well-maintained and equipped with high-tech systems. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with an 8‑hour shift between 6 AM and 6 PM. Saturday work is required as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
