Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship. Security sensitive; criminal background check conducted on selected applicant. Hiring decision contingent on clearance. Some overtime, evening, weekends, holidays and occasional on‑call work possible.
PurposePrevents and resolves customer and maintenance related issues by leading a diverse team of skilled technicians in the application of cost effective maintenance practices that improve the reliability of supported fire safety systems.
Responsibilities- Maintain high productivity, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and quality in shop performance. Monitor and control key performance indicators and ensure adherence to budget.
- Provide timely and courteous customer service, keep shop employees up-to-date on current policies, procedures, and official information. Enforce all safety requirements.
- Prepare statement of work, solicit bids, select best‑value contractor, obtain required funding, fill requisition paperwork, and coordinate contractor work for maintenance repairs and replacements.
- Compose, review, and process shop paperwork—including letters, reports, timesheets, labor reports, emails, and material/equipment requisitions—to maintain communication channels and work activities. Coordinate with other shops when necessary.
- Use plans, construction documents, and specifications for estimating labor and material costs and for identifying related equipment relationships to ensure cost containment and proper preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Participate in project reviews, staff meetings, and external shop training to ensure current policies and procedures are known and distributed.
- Perform other job‑related functions as assigned.
Diploma (High School) or GED. Five years of experience in a construction/facility maintenance trade or a four‑year technical degree. Three years of experience directly or indirectly supervising commercial/industrial construction/facility maintenance shop personnel. Experience supervising fire sprinkler installation/repair/inspections. Experience using a personal computer or microcomputer. NICET Level II or pass all NICET Level II testing within 12 months. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
