The Field Mechanic – Equipment & Fleet is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment in the field to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role directly supports Loenbro’s mission by keeping critical equipment running, minimizing downtime, and supporting projects across multiple job sites.

Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as skid steers and scissor lifts.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance items such as oil changes, fluid refills and engine diagnostics on company vehicles.
  • Perform field service repairs on commercial and industrial job sites, ensuring equipment is operational, safe, and compliant with manufacturer and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
  • Travel to various job sites as needed, including out-of-town assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a field mechanic working on construction equipment.
  • 5+ years as an auto mechanic working on trucks.
  • Must own and maintain a complete set of professional mechanic tools and a reliable service rig (additional compensation provided).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred
  • Formal training, certification, or technical schooling in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics.
  • Experience working in construction, industrial, or infrastructure project environments.
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety standards.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
