Overview
Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Austin, TX. $5000 Sign on Bonus!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field
- Develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools
- Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens
- Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
- Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to their supervisor
Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Identifies additional service opportunities with customer. Completes training in line with skill and business requirements. Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
ExperienceBasic level field service work experience. Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. Customer service experience.
QualificationsMay work some nights and weekends; must be able to pass a DOT physical. Must have a good clean driving record and be able to pull a trailer. Must be able to work with little supervision out in the weather environment.
DOT- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This role will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
