Position: Vehicle Fleet Mechanic II (On-Site)

You will be trusted to:
  • Inspect, repair and maintain vehicles, bucket trucks, cranes, aerial devices, pressure diggers, material handling equipment, hydraulic tools and off-road construction equipment.
  • Perform machine shop repairs by remanufacturing parts, equipment or fixtures to manufacturers' specifications. Set up and operate drill presses, band saws, planers, shapers, lathes, milling, grinding and shearing machines.
  • Perform visual, operational, and safety inspections as dictated by unit manufacturers, DOT, ANSI, and OSHA standards; check parts, equipment and staff availability in performing maintenance and repair duties.
  • Document changes made to systems or equipment through appropriate communications and recordkeeping practices.
  • Document work in logs, files, system prints and other records and through communications, both oral and written, with other team members and supervisors.
  • Operate handheld manual tools and power tools (e.g., impacts, grinders, saws and shears) in performing repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Operate aerial bucket equipment (e.g., man lifts, jib lifts and bucket trucks) and cranes (e.g., mobile cranes, forklifts and facility cranes).
  • Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled.

In this role, you will contribute to our success and provide preventative maintenance, along with troubleshooting and repairing a variety of utility equipment such as skid steers, dozers, bucket trucks, and cranes. This is an opportunity to tackle various types of repairs using your expertise, and enhance your knowledge in high-quality operations, while giving you the sense of accomplishment that comes from ensuring our employees and customers are safe using our fleet.

We will provide you with quality tools to complete the job successfully and efficiently.

You qualify with:
  • Two or more years of experience in mechanical or hydraulic maintenance, auto body maintenance, welding or metal fabrication on vehicles and heavy equipment, or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
  • ASE certification(s) in relevant test series to this position
  • Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic (MHM) certification from the International Fluid Power Society
  • Welding certification in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Shielded Metal Arc Welding standards (section IX, 4G)
  • Manufacturer specific certifications if directly related to this position
