We are hiring a Highly Skilled Carpenter to support federal and/or state government construction contracts within the Texas, United States. This role requires expert-level carpentry skills, strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to perform work in compliance with government regulations.
Due to the nature of the contract and applicable federal requirements,
this position is limited to U.S. citizens only
.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to government contract obligations and/or federal security requirements
- Proof of U.S. citizenship will be required at the time of hire
- Candidates must be able to pass background checks and site-specific clearance requirements, as applicable
- Employment eligibility will be verified in accordance with federal law (Form I-9)
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work on government-funded construction projects
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other materials per specifications
- Construct, install, and repair frameworks, structures, fixtures, cabinetry, and finishes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery safely
- Ensure all work complies with Davis-Bacon Act
, OSHA regulations, and applicable building codes - Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy, and durability
- Coordinate with supervisors, inspectors, and other skilled trades
- Maintain clean, safe, and compliant job sites
- Correct deficiencies identified during inspections
- Minimum 8+ years of professional carpentry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in rough and/or finish carpentry
- Experience working on government, public works, or prevailing wage projects preferred
- Ability to read and execute construction drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Position may fall under union jurisdiction
, depending on project and location - Compensation will comply with prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act or applicable state laws
- Union membership or willingness to join a union, if required by the project, is preferred
- Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship or trade school
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience on federal, state, or municipal construction projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled trades team
- Prevailing wage pay rates
, based on project location and classification - Overtime pay in accordance with federal and state labor laws
