Job Summary:WSB is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Atmospheric Corrosion Inspector (ACI) to join our team in Texas. The primary objective of this role is to identify, assess, and mitigate atmospheric corrosion risks that may compromise the integrity, safety, or reliability of gas meters and meter-sets exposed to the atmosphere.
What you will do:- Perform thorough visual and physical examinations of above-ground piping and associated components.
- Focus inspection efforts on corrosion-prone areas including soil-to-air interfaces, pipe supports, dis-bonded coatings, splash zones, and exposed metallic components.
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to assess coating integrity and detect corrosion.
- Document all findings using the Company-approved Survey
123 application or Service Suit application. - Conduct remediation actions such as wire brushing, cleaning, priming, painting, and application of approved protective coatings.
- Identify and document any gas leaks at the meter location based on odor detection and follow emergency protocols if a leak woning is detected.
- Ensure compliance with all Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements as mandated by the MSA, Commercial Terms, Company’s operating procedures, industry standards, or.mob regulatory bodies.
- Proven experience in atmospheric corrosion inspection or a related field.
- Knowledge of federal regulations, including but not limited to 49 CFR §192.481 and §192.479.
- Familiarity with the use of inspection tools and techniques for assessing coating integrity and detecting corrosion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately and completely.
- Ability to perform remediation actions and follow emergency protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
- Possession of a valid driver’s license (permits are not considered valid for employment), a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle and procession of reliable transportation with flexibility to travel around Houston is required.
- Smartphone Device - taking photos and downloading files into approved application.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work may involve entering customer properties, navigating residential and commercial areas, and interacting with the public.
- Work includes frequent walking for long distances, standing for long periods, repeated bending or crouching, and carrying equipment or handheld devices.
- Certification in atmospheric corrosion inspection or a related field.
- Experience with the Survey
123 application or Service Suit application. - Knowledge of Company’s O&M Manual and applicable federal regulations.

- All above-ground, atmosphere-exposed metered service addresses throughout the Texas region. Work performed is primarily Greater Houston, TX.
