Travel Cable Technician
• TEKsystems
We’re seeking self‑starter Travel Cable Technicians to work across the United States. This contract role is 100 % travel, requiring you to install low voltage wiring and network equipment—including IP cameras, wireless access points, routers, switches, and more—for 3–10 month road trips.
Responsibilities- Pull and terminate low voltage cable.
- Install network equipment in commercial settings.
- Follow instructions and local code when pulling cable.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Co‑ordinate cable ties, bundler and safety regulations for neat installation.
- Install cable support structures—j‑hooks, cable racks, inner duct.
- Conduct low‑voltage network tests to verify equipment functionality.
- Troubleshoot cabling and network issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Adhere to all required project safety requirements set by the client, customers or OSHA.
- Experience as a Data Cable Technician or equivalent.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the USA (100 % travel).
- Availability for 7 pm – 7 am shifts, 5 days per week.
- Physical capability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more repeatedly; work in cramped spaces.
- Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at heights.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in last 3 years).
- Hands‑on expertise with hand tools, pliers, wrenches, punch‑down tools, toners/probes (full list provided).
- Willingness to complete work orders and manage tools.
- Adherence to PPE requirements (hard hat, vest, safety glasses; employee to supply steel‑toed boots).
- Available for new‑hire orientation in Lowell, AR.
- Per‑diem of $125 daily for food and lodging.
