Job Description:

Involves assessing the condition of damaged concrete structures, identifying the cause of deterioration, and implementing appropriate repair techniques.

Job Duties:

  • Conducting thorough inspections to identify cracks, spalling, corrosion, and other signs of structural damage in concrete.
  • Determining the root cause of concrete deterioration, such as exposure to weather, chemical attack, improper construction techniques, or reinforcement corrosion.
  • Carefully remove damaged concrete sections using specialized tools like jackhammers or diamond-cutting saws to access the repair area.
  • Cleaning and widening cracks, then filling them with appropriate repair materials like epoxy injection or polyurethane foam to prevent further propagation.
  • Patching materials are applied to repair localized areas of damage, including reinforcing mesh or rebars, for more significant repairs.
  • Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets or wraps can be installed on concrete structures to enhance their tensile strength and flexural capacity.
  • Pouring and finishing new concrete to replace damaged sections, ensuring proper consolidation and surface smoothness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent verifiable experience.
  • Must operate various hand and power tools related to concrete repair.
  • Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Understanding concrete properties, repair techniques, and relevant building codes.
  • Follow safety protocols for working at heights, handling hazardous materials, and operating power tools.
  • Analyzing complex structural issues and determining the most effective repair solutions.
  • Must have proper identification for US employment.
