Installation Technician, General Labor
Description
Technicians need to be available to help pull cable and terminate keystone-style jacks at a large construction site.
Responsibilities- Pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5/6 and fiber optic cables
- Installing other cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets, etc.)
- Installing network racks and cabinets in server rooms
- Reviewing all job documentation for assigned projects including floor plans, equipment locations, reflected ceiling plans, conduit call‑outs, wall elevations, signal flow diagrams, cable pull schedules
- Regularly standing, climbing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and crawling as required by the job

Skills & Qualifications
- Must have PPE before starting:
Hard hat with chin strap, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, vest. - Level 1 pay: $20‑21/hr depending on experience
- Level 2 pay: $22‑26/hr depending on experience
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Tool list for Level 2 techs:
Tool pouch, pencil/pen/sharpie, packet/box knife, wire strippers, impact tool (punchdown for 66 and 100 block), flashlight or headlamp, 10‑in‑1 screwdriver, security bit screwdriver, Torpedo 9″ magnetic level, hammer, channel locks, tape measure at least 25′ long, diagonal side cutters, long nose pliers, drywall saw, low voltage snips.
Intermediate Level.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 – $25.00/hr.
