PurposeThe purpose of this position is to install, maintain and repair recovered water and condensate pumping systems on the university campus as well as testing and repairing water and condensate meters.
Job Description- Assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing, steam and pump and metering related utility systems. This includes condensate return pumps, chilled water pumps, recovered water pumps and tunnel sump pumps.
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. Clean shop areas and maintain shop equipment and vehicles. Inform appropriate personnel of unusual conditions, problems or deficiencies and take appropriate action as needed.
- Work in conjunction with trades or craft personnel in support of systems within power plant, chilling stations, utility tunnels or other underground utilities.
- Perform preventative or corrective maintenance tasks incidental to the operation of mechanical, tunnel and other plumbing related distribution systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain records of equipment repair and inventories. May complete work orders using automated maintenance program systems.
- Perform other related functions as assigned. Perform work in accordance with normal trade practices to pass inspection for conformity to standards, quality and quantity by journey-level employees or supervisors. Attend staff meetings, safety training and meetings. Attend job related training and complete assigned training modules. Training certification required within 18 months.
