Fiber Technician Austin, TX

Job Description

All qualifications are preferred. Training will be provided if needed.

• Check light levels on future installs and troubleshoot accordingly if failing light level.
• Perform cable and fiber installation work including splicing fiber.
• Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber.
• Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicers, OTDR, VFL's and other fiber equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber, effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps.

Perform construction activities, including pulling new cable/fiber through conduits.
