Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrols in Austin, TX
. You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. Full Time Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour Job Schedule

- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols for armed personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted behaviors.
- Maintain detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, observations, and incidents as required by Allied Universal and the site.
- Work collaboratively with retail staff and local law enforcement as needed to address incidents and/or emergencies.
- Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times, adapting to changing conditions within the retail environment.
- Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a Level III armed certification for Texas.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
