A Field Travel Protector supports GDBA’s protective mission wherever it is needed. Protectors provide coverage on all domestic and international field details, including conducting advances and completing Secure Transportation Operations (STO). Every protector must be experienced, physically fit, flexible, and adaptable.

First‑year earnings for this full‑time hourly role start at a minimum of $120,000 per year, with potential to exceed $150,000+ based on experience, overtime, bonuses, and more.

• 10+ years working in a full‑time certified law‑enforcement officer position(s). Federal, State, and Local level officers are all encouraged to apply.
• Experience as an FBI Special Agent, United States Secret Service Uniformed Division, or similar is ideal.
• 10+ years conducting close protection or executive protection operations for high‑net‑worth or at‑risk clients.
• 10+ years of Special Operations (SOF) military experience – all branches welcome. CIA Global Response Staff (GRU) experience is highly desirable.

• Threat and Risk Assessment – continuously evaluate potential threats and vulnerabilities to develop mitigation strategies.
• Advance Planning – conduct reconnaissance, plan secure travel routes, and prepare emergency plans before the client arrives.
• Close Protection – provide a physical security presence and immediate defense for the client during travel and events.
• Crisis Management – take rapid, decisive action during emergencies, including medical incidents, security breaches, or hostile situations.
• Secure Transportation – arrange and provide secure transport, including defensive and evasive driving.
• Liaison – coordinate with law enforcement, local authorities, and venue staff to ensure a seamless and secure operation.
• Surveillance – perform surveillance detection and counter‑surveillance to identify and deter threats.

• 12‑Day Introductory Essential Protector Skills (EPS) Training Academy.
• Professional Leadership Track (PLT) – a 2‑year on‑the‑job executive protection curriculum that prepares protectors for future leadership positions at GDBA:
• 500 hours of training, mentoring, instructing, and certification.
• 4 additional advanced executive protection training academies.
• Pass physical readiness test (Pull‑ups, Push‑ups, Sit‑ups, 800m run).
• Protectors must be drug and nicotine free.
• Pass a pre‑employment background investigation.
• Must be able to swim.

• $3,000 sign‑on bonus.
• Gym, ammunition, and cellphone reimbursements.
