This position exists as the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level and is outside sales, B2B.
It mainly supports the commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The role increases Ryder's rental sales presence in the BU, ensuring generation of profitable new accounts while retaining existing accounts – the ultimate customer satisfaction. Outcomes include pure rental revenue growth, improved profitability and improved Return on Assets. The role also contributes to lease conversion quotas and improves lease sales productivity and performance for the Lease Sales organization.

Sales Territory – Austin, TX
Essential Functions- SALES:
Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation and customer visits. Use product knowledge to assess customers' needs and develop a proposal. Work with rental operations to ensure equipment availability. Responsible for marketing at the branch level, ensuring rental sales representatives are skilled in telemarketing to prospective and current customers. Scope of decision making:
Contact actual decision makers, develop competitive proposals. Train RSR in proper phone skills and marketing techniques. - CUSTOMER RETENTION:
Maintain contact with customers through multiple visits and phone calls. Ensure quality service, handle complaints and stay abreast of customer needs and long‑term rentals. Scope of decision making:
Retain customers in a price‑competitive market. Schedule retention visits to long‑term rental customers to maintain good relationships. - TIME ADMINISTRATION:
Proposal and contract development, maintain customer files, prepare follow‑up correspondence and coordinate with other BU departments. Maintain FIS integrity and accuracy of customer data in the DPS system. Administration – credit approval, collections of receivables, maintenance‑PM status and scheduling updates. - SCOPE OF DECISION MAKING:
Follow up within a specific time frame. Comply with company procedures. Diplomatically handle collection of past‑due receivables.

- Bachelor's degree required in Marketing or 5 years equivalent job‑related experience.
- One year or more sales experience or equivalent sales training required.
- Three years or more sales experience preferred.
- One year or more industry experience preferred.
Compensation may be influenced by factors such as relevant experience, education, work location, market data and internal equity. The position may be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan. Salary: $50,000 – $50,000.
