Select Commercial Insurance Sales Producer - Industry Specialized
The Industry Specialized Program focuses on outside sales driving new business revenue growth for commercial business clients ($10mm and under in sales). The role develops insurance industry knowledge, obtains licensing, and focuses on outside sales opportunities while leveraging current industry knowledge.
General DescriptionDevelop expertise in Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare or Industrial, cross‑sell referrals from internal units, and establish wins through a book of qualified prospects.
Primary Responsibilities- Achieve new business sales goals on an annualized basis based on our target market of companies with sales of less than $10mm.
- Create positive synergy and pursue cross‑selling opportunities with other practices to meet revenue growth targets.
- Generate sufficient new business leads and first appointment activity volume.
- Identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect‑specific basis.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the discovery process (sales due diligence) and promote USI’s competitive differentiation, including mastering the use of USI’s presentation templates and supporting OMNI output and associated solution pages.
- Communicate technical knowledge effectively to non‑insurance buyers.
- Develop relationships and achieve new business goals within a specific industry specialization.
- Systematically use CRM to support sales processes, inputting accurate and timely information to facilitate realistic corporate sales and revenue projections.
- Attend and actively participate in USI Industry Specialized Program, USI University and USI Select ONE Academy.
- Obtain proper insurance licensing through the Industry Specialized Program and independent study.
- Develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies along with periodic communications to optimize USI’s position in the marketplace.
- Positively represent USI in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking events.
- Work collaboratively with the account management team and national/regional resources to maximize results.
- 3‑5 years of business‑to‑business sales experience, including calling on senior executives and a track record of financial success.
- Current sales success in Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare or Industrial.
- Personable, highly motivated, goal‑oriented, organized, and driven to achieve individual sales goals.
- Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organization and follow‑up skills.
- Excellent listening skills with a strong customer focus.
- Good teamwork skills with an ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Understanding and commitment to mutual objectives of the Select Commercial Insurance Practice and Regional Office.
- Ability to work with senior‑level management and maintain a top‑level executive presence.
- College degree preferred.
