Overview

Compression Systems & Services is hiring an Area Sales Leader to develop business pipelines and grow sales in the Central/South Texas Region. The role formulates strategies, drives revenue growth, and coaches a team of field sales engineers to meet strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Generate revenue growth by selling industrial products, replacement components, and long-term service agreements; lead the sales team to achieve revenue, profit, and market share goals.
  • Coach, counsel, train, and develop all sales employees; drive continuous improvement through performance management and mentoring programs.
  • Analyze target account requirements and develop penetration plans to increase market share and earn customer loyalty.
  • Stay current on market intelligence; coordinate with marketing and internal resources to resolve pricing, product specifications, and warranty issues; ensure success of marketing programs through the channel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Mechanical and electrical expertise
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI in the previous 5 years;
    Hit & Run;
    License Suspension;
    Reckless/Careless Driving; multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a sales team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.

  • Ability to assess customer needs, analyze and interpret basic equipment performance calculations, and recommend technical solutions.
  • Proven business and sales acumen, including prospecting accounts, effectively navigating customer organizations, value selling, and winning competitive accounts.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
Preferences
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four‑year college or university.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of industrial product sales experience, preferably with a diverse product portfolio.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Remote position with 40–50% travel; some overnight stays required.
  • Prefer residence in San Antonio, Austin, or South of Dallas.
Pay Range

$110,000 – $130,000, plus discretionary or nondiscretionary annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
