Compression Systems & Services is hiring an Area Sales Leader to develop business pipelines and grow sales in the Central/South Texas Region. The role formulates strategies, drives revenue growth, and coaches a team of field sales engineers to meet strategic goals.
Responsibilities- Generate revenue growth by selling industrial products, replacement components, and long-term service agreements; lead the sales team to achieve revenue, profit, and market share goals.
- Coach, counsel, train, and develop all sales employees; drive continuous improvement through performance management and mentoring programs.
- Analyze target account requirements and develop penetration plans to increase market share and earn customer loyalty.
- Stay current on market intelligence; coordinate with marketing and internal resources to resolve pricing, product specifications, and warranty issues; ensure success of marketing programs through the channel.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Mechanical and electrical expertise
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI in the previous 5 years;
Hit & Run;
License Suspension;
Reckless/Careless Driving; multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years).
- Excellent relationship‑building and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Establishes and builds solid relationships with customers, key institutions, and employees.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a sales team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
- Honest, self‑motivated, and team oriented.
- Ability to assess customer needs, analyze and interpret basic equipment performance calculations, and recommend technical solutions.
- Proven business and sales acumen, including prospecting accounts, effectively navigating customer organizations, value selling, and winning competitive accounts.
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four‑year college or university.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of industrial product sales experience, preferably with a diverse product portfolio.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team.
- Knowledge of Salesforce.
- Remote position with 40–50% travel; some overnight stays required.
- Prefer residence in San Antonio, Austin, or South of Dallas.
$110,000 – $130,000, plus discretionary or nondiscretionary annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
