Retail Regional Director – Lead With Purpose

Quarterly Bonus Potential: The Retail Regional Director will have the potential to earn up to a maximum of 25% of their quarterly salary based on performance in key metrics in their department.

Summary of Position

The Retail Regional Director is responsible for the management and operations of multiple retail stores (8‑12) within an assigned geographical region. This role oversees operational practices, ensuring budget and sales goals are met, and fostering the growth of strong teams. They are responsible for ensuring that company policies and procedures are understood and implemented across all stores within their region. Their primary objective is to motivate and direct general managers, provide professional development, and perform performance management of the results they are accountable to achieve.

They oversee all aspects of retail operations and are entrusted with maintaining the company’s brand while promoting the organization’s culture and values within the retail stores they manage.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies, action plans, staffing, and processes to optimize donation processing and drive sales growth.
  • Achieve key performance indicators across stores, including customer service, controllable margin, store sales, ecommerce sales, and retention.
  • Coach and develop store leaders through effective mentoring and support with a hands‑on approach.
  • Boost employee morale through recognition programs and rewards.
  • Inspire and hold teams accountable for store operations, including scheduling, visual presentation, and inventory/production management to meet retail goals.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, accident‑free environment for customers and employees, maintaining compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Cultivate a safety‑conscious culture through education, training, and hazard reporting.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline within the region with succession planning.
  • Monitor staffing levels and payroll budget and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with support departments such as Human Resources, Mission, Loss Prevention, IT, Facilities, and Finance.
  • Analyze performance reports, conduct store visits, and consider customer/donor feedback to create sales plans that enhance store performance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in strategic planning and budget development.
  • Monitor expenses to ensure compliance with budget constraints.
  • Ensure proper merchandising and organization by adhering to established merchandising standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for retail and donation environments.
  • Direct store execution of aftermarket/post‑retail salvage process guidelines.
  • Manage purchased goods inventory to ensure merchandising, margin, and sales are executed to guidelines.
  • Ensure productivity expectations are met to maximize revenue and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to define store organization and visual presentation standards, optimizing product placement to achieve sales targets.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer service issues within the region and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Build relationships within the community, participating in events to increase visibility and donations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities over all retail members in the assigned region.

Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of multi‑unit retail management experience; three years preferred with full profit and loss responsibility.
  • Self‑motivated, highly engaged, organized, goal‑oriented, and strategic in planning short‑ and long‑term priorities.
  • In‑depth understanding of both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, liability insurance, and a reliable vehiclerelated travel.
  • Travel to store locations 4‑5 days a week with document visit recaps.
