Job DescriptionThe General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of our restaurant, including selecting, developing, and managing staff, overseeing inventory and ordering, optimizing profits, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
- Ensure all financial and payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with operational standards, policies, and laws.
- Maintain high quality of food preparation and service, supervise portion control, and manage waste reduction.
- Estimate food and beverage costs and place orders with distributors, scheduling delivery of fresh supplies.
- Ensure positive guest service, respond to complaints, and turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
- Maintain security procedures to protect employees, guests and company assets, and complete accident reports promptly.
- Manage shifts: daily decision making, scheduling, planning, upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
- Provide direction on operational and procedural issues, interview hourly employees, hire, supervise, develop, and, when necessary, terminate employees.
- Conduct orientation, explain Bob’s Steak & Chop House philosophy, and oversee training of new employees.
- Develop employees through feedback, performance expectations and reviews.
- Maintain accurate staffing plans and schedules, ensuring the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
- At least 4+ years in a Management role, preferably in a steakhouse environment.
- Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Proficient in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies, personnel management, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Manager Serv Safe certified.
- TABC certified.
- Self‑discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing personality.
- Polite, pleasant manner and neat, clean appearance.
- Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to meet service and food standards.
- Ability to handle simultaneous pressures, coordinate multiple tasks, and recommend solutions to restaurant problems.
- Strong communication skills for working with diverse staff.
- Ability to determine applicability of applicants’ experience and qualifications.
